The reason for a joyful dance
Grifolia frondosa is best known to us under the Japanese name Maitake, which means something like a "dancing mushroom" but is also known as "hen of the woods". The reason for the naming is said to be that the finders often performed a joyful dance in search of a rare mushroom. Maitake has been used in Japan and China since 3000 BC. In the case of our Maitake extract, the soluble parts are removed from the sponge powder and then evaporated, leaving a concentrate which, with excellent availability, contains therapeutically important secondary components such as polysaccharides.
